A. The quotation comes from "Le Beau Navire" of Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867).
Translation:
"Your noble legs, under the drapery they chase,
Torment and agitate obscure desires
Like two witches who
Stirring a black brew in a deep vessel."
Note: There is a misspelling in Out of Africa:
the line should read
"Tourner un philtre noir dans un vase profond."
[not "dam"]
