A. "Ehrengard" is one of Isak Dinesen's humorous stories, written for an American magazine.
Ehrengard is a beautiful young woman. An artist,
Herr Cazotte, decides he will never be happy until he paints a nude portrait
of her. So he elaborately devises a situation where he "seduces" her into
posing. She, however, reverses the trick through a comedy of errors--proving
Isak Dinesen's point that Fate is more ingenious than any artist.
