Question 77: Whatever happened to Farah Aden?
A. Farah worked for a variety of people in Kenya after Karen Blixen left, including Bror Blixen. He was a driver for Major Thomas in the Northern Frontier District from 1940 to 1942.
He died from food poisoning after dining in a restaurant with a friend. He is thought to have been born around 1885 and to have died in 1942, but the dates of his birth and death are not certain.
This information comes from Africa's Song of Karen Blixen (Published in Nairobi, 1998) by Tove Hussein.
In 1939 Karen Blixen began to plan a trip to Mecca with Farah and his younger brother, but World War II prevented her from going.
