Research at the
Karen Blixen Museet

News of future
research opportunities at the Karen Blixen Museum, Denmark
RUNGSTED, July 16,
2004--
The
Karen Blixen Museum is working to establish a research center in the
museum at Rungstedlund [Karen Blixen's former estate].
The
research center will concentrate information about Karen Blixen in one
place and will be designed to attract researchers from Denmark and
other countries.
[No
announcement was made about the basis for qualifying for permission to
access the materials. In the past, the Rungstedlund Foundation, Karen
Blixen's estate, has granted permission to selected candidates to
peruse research materials.]
Students
from Italy, the United States, and Germany have already expressed an
interest in visiting the research center, which will be established in
cooperation with The Danish Institute of Language and Literature.
The Karen
Blixen Museum and The Danish Institute of Language and Literature will
also cooperate in a plan to publish the complete works of Karen Blixen
in ten volumes. The publisher Gyldendal will participate in the
project, which has not yet been funded.
Initial
plans call for the first volume to appear in 2007 and the final volume
in 2011.
